All I know about Beverly Hills is a city in LA home to many Hollywood stars. Once we touched down in LAX airport and gotten our car rental on the Sunday morning, we drove here immediately to check out this posh place and hoping to bump into some of the Hollywood stars! While waiting like a paparazzi, these are the 8 top things to do in Beverly Hills. Check it out.
1.Go spot the Posh & Classic Motor Vehicles in Beverly Hills Neighborhood
You could easily spot many posh & classics cars running around in this neighborhood. In fact, there are just too many high profile cars and I could only managed to capture few here. Some of those cars can only be seen in the museum but it is really lucky to see them rolling up and down on the roads.
The below is not a luxury car but a tour mini bus for tourist! I find it cute as it was painted in the American Flag colors and stars.
Even the Fire Fighter truck is super long. Call me “suagu”/country bumpkin but I never seen such long fire truck.
2.Most Photographed Spot at Beverly Hills Garden
This is the most photographed spot in Beverly Hills. The sign is 40 foot long, illuminated and has a water feature along with a variety of flora that showcase the landscape surrounding the garden area. The Beverly Hills Sign has become a place of pilgrimage for tourists around the world.
3.Go spot Sculptures at Beverly Hills Garden :
“Hymn of Life Tulips from Artist Yayoi Kusama”
You will notice a lot of dots in this sculpture because Yayoi Kusama love using polka dots in her artwork.
“Rabbit with Drum by Barry Flanagan”
A huge rabbit playing drum sit in front of the Beverly Hills fountain.
“Endless V sculpture by Jaume Plensa”
This is a 8 foot by 7 foot stainless steel sculpture, feature with a man sitting covered with a blanket of symbols and characters from all languages. Go spot how many languages you can recognize.
This is a public park which was opened in 1911, with historical fountains and gardens planted with roses, cacti, succulents and palms trees, very beautiful and great for dogs I am sure.
Beverly Hills was once a Spanish lima bean ranch, that was before beautiful mansion was built around this neighborhood.
4.Go spot the movie scene palm trees in Beverly Hills
Did you find the below picture with tall palm trees familiar to you? Yes, you find it in most of the Hollywood movie scene. The palm trees are extremely tall and planted nicely along the roads.
5.Check out Rodeo Drive
Rodeo Drive is one of the most famous place to hang out for their high end shopping & restaurant in Beverly Hills. You can spot a lot of Al fresco dining and many would go for the coffee and desserts outdoor since weather in California is always warm.
6.Get a bite at Nate’n Al Delicatessen
Nate’n Al Delicatessen is a restaurant which serve deli such as sandwiches with cheese and cold meat. This restaurant has been here for ages, since 1945 and famous among celebrities. The wait can be long but if you have the time to burn, why not queue and you never know you will bump into some celebrities.
7.Shop like “Pretty Woman” 🙂
Walk like a pretty woman and shop like one. Remember, pretty woman/Julia Robert didn’t have money to buy during her first visit? Yeah, same goes with me, just window shopping.
Beverly Hills 90210
If you live long enough then you may know Beverly Hills 90210 hit Soap opera/teen drama which was hit back in 90s. The 90210 is the zip code used in this area.
8.Go take a picture @ #lovewall & hastag in Instagram
People queue to take a picture with this love wall at Beverly Hills, then post in Instagram. Remember to crop your picture before posting in Instagram. It is located opposite of Beverly Hills Garden.
Chipotle Mexican Grill
We prefer not to wait for a table at Nate’n Al Delicatessen so have Mexican instead. We ordered a burrito which is so huge, about 4 times bigger than the size back home/Singapore Food Barn and shared among three adults.
Chipotle Mexican Grill is an American chain of fast casual restaurants, no tips needed. You see this chain all over America. You can order your burrito however you like, choice of vegetable from bell peppers, bean, onions and fresh oregano. What I like about their burrito is their hot & spicy sauce which contain jalapenos and topped up with guacamole dip. Yummy!
Chipotle Mexican Grill Paper Bags
Chipotle Mexican Grill Paper Bags embellished with original short prose! Turn to the other side of the paper bag and it printed with a short story for you to read while eating the burritos in their restaurants.
Where to find free parking at Beverly Hills?
Go 345 North Beverly Drive! The first two hours is free. Only about 5-10 mins walk to Beverly Hill Garden.
What is my thought about Beverly Hills?
Well, it is a very quiet and decent small town in the big city. You see nice restaurants and cafe here and some expensive boutique, nice garden park to run with the dogs. Other than that, it is just a pretty normal neighborhood for the residents!
