The selling point for The Singulari Hotel Osaka Bay is it is within walking distance to Universal Studio Osaka. The hotel is literally right above the train station so it is very accessible. This is really a convenient hotel to stay if you are going to Universal Studio Japan.
JR Train Station
Once you come out of the train station, the Singulari Hotel is in front of you. JR Osaka Station is a 12-minute train ride from the hotel, while Namba Station is a 35-minute train ride and walk away. Stop at the Universal City Station on the JR Sakurajima Line, 5 minutes walking to the Universal Studio Theme Park and a 1-minute walk to the Hotel.
Elevator Car Park @ Hotel
For people who are driving and need to park your car, there is an elevator car park in the hotel which seems high tech. It was my first time to use an elevator car park but please do not worry as there is an attendant to assist you by giving your verbal instructions and hand gesture.
An elevator car park system is a mechanical system designed to minimize the area, it provides parking for cars on multiple levels stacked vertically.
The attendant will give you instruction as follow:
1. You need to drive into the elevator with your car when the elevator opens its door.
2. Drive within the space given in the elevator lift.
3. Before you come out of your car, remember to take out your car key.
4. Step outside from the elevator door.
5. The Elevator door will close and your car will move up and get stacked vertically at a vacant space.
The attendant will give a card to show where your car is stored. You need to show to the attendant when you want to pick up your car.
Please note when you pick up your car, your car is already auto turned with front facing so it is easy for you to move out from the elevator.
Total fees for overnight is 2400 yen (USD21.60.)
Free Toiletries
There is a small counter full of free of spa toiletries, rubber bend for hair, comb, toothbrush, shower cap, shaver etc. Please remember to select what you need to bring up to your room.
Hotel Room Review
All rooms are non-smoking, equipped with Simmons mattresses, a clothes rack, sofa bed, electric kettle, hairdryer pajamas, and slippers.
Our room has large windows featuring Osaka bay views
Room Bathroom & Toilet Review
The bathroom and toilet are not very spacious at all as it has a huge sky spa (onsen hot spring bath) on the 14th floor. I highly recommend you to take your bath in the sky spa as it is free and it is super spacious and offer a breathtaking view.
Japanese toilet & Bidet Wash
The toilet is very elaborate and you should play around with all the buttons. It includes many advanced features which you rarely saw. It has anal hygiene, bidet washing, seat worming (my favorite especially during cold season) and deodorization. You can also adjust the level of water for your hygiene wash and also the heat of the water. You will love it, trust me.

Sky Spa review @ Singulari Hotel Osaka Bay
Another selling point for Singulari Hotel is the Sky Spa located on the 14th floor. It features an open-air bath and hot tub which is located on the 14th floor and is free for all guests to view the Osaka waterfront. Men and women bath are separated. These days you don’t find mix bath so often.
Follow the steps before you enter the public spa or onsen pool:
1. Clean your body in these shower area. It is a must to shower in front of the other onsen users before you go into the spa.
2. Sit down on the tiny stool and shower your body. Do not stand up as you may splash the water to your neighbor. Shampoo & conditional are provided.
3. At the entrance, there is a big tub of onsen water, splay a little to your body to get used to the temperature before you go into the onsen spa.
4. You need to be completely naked and hair tied up neatly and no towels at all before you go into the onsen spa pool.
5. Do not jump into the pool but go in slowly without making any noise to the other users.
6. Enjoy the soaking and look out the window for the Osaka Bay view.
7. Do not soak too long, a good 10-15 mins are enough. Then go to the open-air onsen and soak another 10 mins.
8. Before exit, please shower lightly as you do not want to wash away the good stuff from the hot spring.
The sauna room is also available next to the onsen pool.
The women dressing room is equipped with all the cosmetics you need for your face after wash.
Get your clothes from the locker and do remember to drink some water after the onsen bath. The water dispenser is available with cold and hot water.
Please throw your wet towels here. (below)
Vending machines are lining outside the Sky Spa with all types of fancy cold and hot drinks, ice-cream and snacks.
A little Earthquake
We experience a little earthquake during our stay in Osaka, it was not a big one and no casualties. The news on tv showed there is no “tsunami” so no much of a worry. However, I did feel a little shaking when the earthquake happened but it was a short one.

Hotel Breakfast Review 7 am – 10.30 am
The breakfast buffet can be very crowded in the early morning as many guests are rushing to Universal Studio. There is a huge spread of breakfast choice which was quite shocking when you see it.
You will notice a card written in Japanese and English places on the table. It tells “in the middle of eating” and the other side of the card says “Finish eating”. Placed your card with “in the middle of eating” so other guests will not use your table. After you have done with your breakfast, turn the card to the other side – “finish eating” so that the staff can help to wipe the table for the next guests.
Japanse cuisine
Japanese natto & Seaweed
The fermented soybeans are one of the top breakfast for the Japanese. It looks scary at first due to the slimy texture but full of protein. Highly recommend you to try natto in Japan.
Nikujaga
Nikujaga ingredients are lots of potatoes, meat, and some onion and sometimes carrots as well. It was stewed for hours and it is a popular dish in Japan.
Chirashi Sushi
It literally means “scattered sushi”. Chirashi Sushi is served on happy occasions and at parties in Japan as it is easy to make and suitable for a big group.
Mentaiko
Mentaiko is a sack of salted cod roe marinated in mild chili pepper sauce. You can eat it with rice or Japanese Spaghetti.

Tray Return Rack
You can do your part by returning the tray back to the rack.
Final thoughts:
There are three things I love about The Singulari Hotel & Skyspa in Osaka Bay. The hotel is very close to the Universal Studio Japan Osaka, only 5 mins walk to the entrance of the theme park. Second, the sky spa onsen located at the 14th floor overlooking Osaka Bay view and it is free. The third reason is the fantastic breakfast buffet choices and most tasted so good.

I didn’t know Universal was in Japan either, looks like a great trip.

I’ve never stayed in a hotel like that, amaaaaazing!!! This must have been an awesome experience.
Dear Chad,
The best of this hotel is the location near the Universal Studio and the Sky Spa located at the 14th floor of the hotel.
This hotel looks amazing! The breakfast spread looks beyond delicious. As someone who packs only in a carry-on, even for international flights, that counter at the very beginning with all the free toiletries is necessary!
Dear Elaine,
The breakfast spread was superb and love their Japanese cuisine. I don’t have many complaints.
This hotel is amazing! First, I would love to see how they store the cars – so cool! The rooms look so comfy and relaxing and the spa/sauna area look like heaven. And the food…everything looks so good, I wouldn’t want to leave!
Dear Kristy,
The elevator parking is an amazing experience for us as we don’t have that in where I live. It is great for places with limited spaces as the cars are packed vertically.
What a fun trip! I wasn’t aware there was a Universal in Japan! That hotel looks amazing!
Dear Beth,
There are Universal Studio in Singapore too.
That car lift is amazing! I bet that Universal experience is awesome too; I would love to take my kids there one day. Looks like a lot of fun and the hotel looks gorgeous and clean too!
Dear Sara,
Thanks for your comment. Kids would love the Universal Studio Japan’s atmosphere.
Looks like a nice place to stay. I do prefer smaller and more ‘traditional’ Japanese accommodation but if it for business I think your option is better.
Dear Lyosha,
This hotel is suitable for people who wanted to visit Universal Studio as it is only 5 mins walk to the gate of Universal Studio Japan.
I absolutely love the minimalist style here. So clean and modern. Mentaiko sounds rather spicy. Did you find it so? Or was it mild?
Dear Rhonda,
The mentaiko taste a little spicy, not too much. It goes so well with white rice and spaghetti.
Nice would be great visiting
That looks like a really fun place to stay! I’ve never seen a car lift like that before! I didn’t know there was a Universal in Japan, I would totally stay there.
The hotel seems like a great way to relax after a day at the studios. The extra perks of the spa and wide variety of food selections make it a great travelers first pick.
