There are top 10 important landmarks in West Lake and Ji Hong Qiao is one of them. This secret gem is hidden and not easy to find especially for foreign tourists.
Jihong Bridge 霁虹桥 is located in the north of Yuhu Bay 浴鹄湾. It is the main entrance from Yanggong Causeway 杨公提 to the scenic areas of Yuhu Bay and San Tai Meng JI 三台梦迹. Jihong Bridge is beautiful and grand, just like a rainbow over the water. The bridge, Jihong Pavilion, and Feihong Corridor 飞虹廊 form a set of sceneries and echo with Huangmei House 黄蔑楼, the No.1 Martial Master Archway, Zijiu Cottage, and Yuhu Pavilion at a distance.
Calm Lake so observe the reflection
This is one of the important landmarks in West Lake. It can be seen from Santaishan Road. The lake is usually calm and reflection can be seen clearly just like the mirror.
Less crowd here
The crowd of tourists are so much lesser here so you can actually take your own sweet time to stroll. Best if you come here with the traditional clothing as the backdrop matches so well.
In the summer, you may need insect spray. Do bring along some bread for the fishes in the lake here.
Crooked Long Corridor is the highlight
The crooked long corridor is one of the signatures here. Since West Lake is a Unesco Site, hence there is no tall building allowed to build around here. That’s why you can enjoy the peaceful, calm, and serenity of this environment. Incredibly beautiful.
Final thoughts:
The crowds here are obviously less as compared to other top sites in West Lake Hangzhou. The whole atmosphere is very peaceful and calm. An ideal place to relax and enjoy nature with an ancient Chinese vibe.
