Castle Green\u00a0located in the heart of Kendal, near Lake District.\u00a0 The hotels in Lakes District are very expensive but with the similar price ranges, you can get a good quality hotel at Castle Green at Kendal, just an hour drive from the Lake Districts. We actually wanted to book a hotel in Lake District but found out the beds provided are bunk beds and the price is over SGD 200.\u00a0 (What? Paid for SGD 200 and stay at bunk bed, no way! ) So we choose Castle Green Hotel at Kendal, which turn out to be a wonderful choice!<\/p>\n

After visiting Lake District in the late afternoon, we drove for an hour to reach Castle Green, Kendal.<\/p>\n

After unloading your luggage, you can drive to the front and park at the parking area.\u00a0 Staff at check in counter is super nice and friendly!\u00a0 I asked if there is a trolley as I have two big & a small\u00a0suitcases to handle.\u00a0 She told me there is no trolley but there is porter services.\u00a0 But I think\u00a0 it was a busy day and porters can’t be contactable so the front desk lady with her heels helped me to carry two huge suitcases, each about 20 kg.\u00a0 I wanted to stop her but she insist and before I can do anything, my two suitcases were already in the room!\u00a0 After that I wanted to tip her but she refused as she is not really a porter.\u00a0 I only could thank her repeatedly.<\/p>\n

If you are driving, do register with the front counter your number plate and car model.<\/p>\n

You can also enter from the front if you do not have any heavy luggage to unload.\u00a0 Front entrance is also for dining visitors!<\/p>\n

The Greenhouse Restaurant in the Castle Green Kendal\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

It was a Friday night when we checked in to Castle Green and the restaurant was very full house, many locals actually dine here!<\/p>\n

Hotel Room<\/strong><\/p>\n

The setting of the hotel room is stunning, a huge panoramic painting at the wall was the first thing I saw when I opened the door.<\/p>\n

There is a comfortable huge double bed and an extra bed in the room as our room is meant for 3 person. Lightning in the room are super cosy.<\/p>\n

We are staying at higher level and too bad our view does not overlooking the garden.<\/p>\n

The bathtub is very clean and there is a shower head also.<\/p>\n

The lighting in the bathroom is bright enough which is very good.<\/p>\n

Gym Facilities<\/strong><\/p>\n

Castle Green Kendal has great gym facilities but too bad I did not bring my exercise outfit.\u00a0 There are 2 gyms equipped with various machines.\u00a0 One room is use for cardio and the other is for weight training.<\/p>\n

This other gym room is weight training room, there is a smith machine and few machines for training back.\u00a0 The dumbbells in the gym are very comprehensive!\u00a0 The gym facilities is the best I can find so far!<\/p>\n

Clean towers, drinks and snacks are served at the gym counter.<\/p>\n

There are lockers and hairdryer in the changing room. Very spacious too!<\/p>\n

I was here at the swimming pool at around 7 am in the morning and found a lady already started her swim.<\/p>\n

The breakfast area is very big but not many guest as yet because I was very early. I spotted a group of Japanese “obasan”\/middle age ladies were occupying\u00a0 a long table, I believe they were touring in a group. I did not spot any other Asian, such as Chinese & Korean but yesterday at the Lake Districts tourist spot, I saw many Chinese & Korean.<\/p>\n

The restaurant for breakfast is nicely decorated with cosy lighting, painting and other little details.<\/p>\n

We choose to squeeze to a small table meant for two people because of the garden view<\/p>\n

Setting at the table, the butter is served at your table, you don’t need to pick them up from the\u00a0smorgasbord.<\/p>\n

Exploring Around Castle Green<\/strong><\/p>\n

The environment in Castle Green is very suitable for people who would like to get away from the hustle bustle of city life. It is ideal for wedding too. Do check out their beautiful garden and well trimmed lawn. Simply awesome.\u00a0 This is one of the best hotel I have stayed during my 12 days tour in UK!<\/p>\n
