Itinerary<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.agoda.com\/partners\/partnersearch.aspx?cid=1769828&amp;pcs=1&amp;hl=en&amp;hid=685069\">Renyi Lake Hotel<\/a> at Chiayi to Sun Moon Lake ( 97.5km ) about 2 hours<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Sun Moon lake<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>\u6cd5\u9f13\u5c71<span class=\"s1\">\u658b\u660e\u5bfa\/ Zhai Ming Temple<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.agoda.com\/partners\/partnersearch.aspx?cid=1769828&amp;pcs=1&amp;hl=en&amp;hid=302612\"><strong>Lang Kei Motel<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Renyi Lake Hotel<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.agoda.com\/partners\/partnersearch.aspx?cid=1769828&amp;pcs=1&amp;hl=en&amp;hid=685069\">Renyi Lake hotel<\/a><\/strong> served pretty simple breakfast. \u00a0I noticed big groups of\u00a0tourists were from mainland China. \u00a0The <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.agoda.com\/partners\/partnersearch.aspx?cid=1769828&amp;pcs=1&amp;hl=en&amp;hid=685069\">Renyi Lake Hotel<\/a><\/strong> is situated a bit far from the town but it was newly opened so the hotel is in very good condition. \u00a0I took a picture beside the lift in <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.agoda.com\/partners\/partnersearch.aspx?cid=1769828&amp;pcs=1&amp;hl=en&amp;hid=685069\">Renyi Lake Hotel<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>to showcase my beautiful purple long dress.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/day7-.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-1304\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/day7--1015x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"584\" height=\"589\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Chiayi to Sun Moon Lake\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The journey from Chiayi to Sun Moon Lake is about 2 hours drive. \u00a0The drive were far more better and less scarier than yesterday mountainous ride from Alishan.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/day7-sml.png\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1458\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/day7-sml.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"632\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/day7-sml.png 632w, https:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/day7-sml-300x95.png 300w, https:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/day7-sml-500x158.png 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 632px) 100vw, 632px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/affiliate.klook.com\/jump\/activity\/483-a-day-at-sun-moon-lake-taichung\/?adid=10877&amp;af_wid=1904\">Sun Moon Lake<\/a> &amp; Wen Wu Temple<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Sun Moon Lake is the largest lake in Taiwan and it was located in Yuchi Township, Nantou County.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>It is said that <span class=\"s1\">the east side of the lake is round, like the sun, while the west side is long and narrow, like a crescent moon. \u00a0Frankly I can&#8217;t see how it looks like sun and crescent moon, may be need go higher to view.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161022_100558w.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-1337\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161022_100558w-528x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"528\" height=\"1024\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The lake is very big and there are many spots\u00a0where you could stop to enjoy this beautiful lake. \u00a0We chose to stop in front of the WenWu Temple as this is also one of the popular spot. \u00a0It was a Saturday so all car parks were quite crowded.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161022_100956w.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-1340\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161022_100956w-741x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"584\" height=\"807\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The Wen Wu Temple stands out with the big gateway.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>As you can see I have to climb many steps before I could reach the big hall.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>In total, there are 3 halls in this big temple.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161022_101505w.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-1341\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161022_101505w-944x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"584\" height=\"633\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The Wen Wu Temple of Sun Moon Lake has a bronze statue of a seated Confucius, hence it is very popular among students, probably praying for passing their results with flying colors.<\/p>\n<p><a style=\"line-height: 1.625;\" href=\"\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161022_103223w.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-1342\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161022_103223w-1024x387.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"584\" height=\"221\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Wen Wu temple is also the biggest temple on the Northern bank of the lake. Wen Wu Temple was actually rebuilt in 1969.\u00a0 Prior to this, there were 2 smaller temples, it was combined into one big temple now, call Wen Wu temple. \u00a0To me, it looks more like a Chinese palace.<\/p>\n<p><a style=\"line-height: 1.625;\" href=\"\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161022_103456.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-1343\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161022_103456-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"584\" height=\"329\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Front view of Wen Wu temple.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161022_103805w.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-1344\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161022_103805w-683x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"584\" height=\"876\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The weather was great in the morning, windy and sunny, not too hot and not too cold in the month of October.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">I had a wonderful moment spending with my family exploring this beautiful lake with mountain surrounding and the Wen wu palace style temple.<\/p>\n<p><a style=\"line-height: 1.625;\" href=\"\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161022_103935.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-1345\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161022_103935-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"584\" height=\"329\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>Aboriginal street performance in Sun Moon Lake<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Sun Moon Lake has also been a center of aboriginal life for thousands of years, with aboriginal people involved in its tourist industry, selling handicrafts, mostly made out of wood or bamboo. \u00a0Sun Moon Lake is home to the Thao tribe, one of aboriginal tribes of Taiwan. \u00a0<span style=\"line-height: 1.625;\">I bought a CD sang by this aboriginal guy in the picture, he was singing live opposite of Wen Wu temple. \u00a0His singing made a great ambient in Sun Moon Lake.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a style=\"line-height: 1.625;\" href=\"\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161022_104012.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-1346\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161022_104012-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"584\" height=\"329\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">There are plenty of thing to do in Sun Moon Lake, I saw some people were hiking but I can&#8217;t do it with my long dress.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>There are also rental bikes shops or you can even cruise around the lake if you have time.<\/p>\n<p><a style=\"line-height: 1.625;\" href=\"\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161022_104149w.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-1347\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161022_104149w-695x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"584\" height=\"860\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>On the highway in Nantou, the traffic in the highway was pretty smooth.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161022_114303.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-1350\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161022_114303-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"584\" height=\"329\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161022_114246.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-1349\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161022_114246-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"584\" height=\"329\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Nantou Freeway rest area<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We stopped over at Nantou Freeway rest area in the middle of our journey to Taoyuan for lunch. The rest area is very big, plenty of clean washrooms, plenty of retails shops and restaurants and food court. \u00a0It is simply look like a big shopping mall.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">This freeway rest area is actually so much fun to visit!<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>I was surprised many local came here for their lunch so the food court was quite crowded.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>What stands out even more is the integration of the rest areas with the beautiful Taiwan landscape. \u00a0It is different from the other rest area I usually encounter in the freeway. \u00a0Nantou rest area rank top no 2 in the most popular rest area in Taiwan Highway. \u00a0I was glad we turned in to visit this rest area!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161022_142642w.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-1351\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161022_142642w-1024x817.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"584\" height=\"466\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Zhai Ming Temple<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I came by to visit one of my cousin who is now called Yen Lian Fa shi, currently studying in this temple.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161022_152917.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-1354\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161022_152917-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"584\" height=\"329\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The temple is located in Taoyuan, coincidently I booked my hotel tonight which is just 15 mins drive from Zhai Ming Temple.<\/p>\n<p><a style=\"line-height: 1.625;\" href=\"\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161022_151833.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-1352\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161022_151833-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"584\" height=\"329\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The temple environment is very quiet, secluded and surrounded by many beautiful big trees.<\/p>\n<p><a style=\"line-height: 1.625;\" href=\"\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161022_162458w.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-1355\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161022_162458w-1024x625.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"584\" height=\"356\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Yen Lian Fa shi welcoming us after her a long day\u00a0conference.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161022_163254w.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-1356\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161022_163254w-675x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"584\" height=\"886\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Yen Lian Fa shi invited us to have the\u00a0vegetarian dinner at Zhai Ming Temple. \u00a0The meal was simple but enough to feed us. \u00a0After\u00a0the dinner we cleaned our own bowls before leaving the eating hall.<\/p>\n<p><a style=\"line-height: 1.625;\" href=\"\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161022_152838.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-1353\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161022_152838-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"584\" height=\"329\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Lang Kei Motel Taoyuan<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We checked in to\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.agoda.com\/partners\/partnersearch.aspx?cid=1769828&amp;pcs=1&amp;hl=en&amp;hid=302612\">Lang Kei Motel<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>in the evening. \u00a0We stayed in the hotel to pack our luggage as we will be flying home\u00a0tomorrow afternoon.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Taiwan Self drive round the island &#8211;
