{"id":2214,"date":"2017-03-02T23:31:38","date_gmt":"2017-03-02T23:31:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/?p=2214"},"modified":"2017-12-14T04:17:36","modified_gmt":"2017-12-14T04:17:36","slug":"south-korea-round-the-island-with-chan-brothers-day-6-daejon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/2017\/03\/south-korea-round-the-island-with-chan-brothers-day-6-daejon\/","title":{"rendered":"South Korea Round the Island &#8211; Day 6 &#8211; Jeungdo -Salt farm &#038; Korean Traditional Wedding in Jeonju"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Scenic Rusty Korea &#8211; Day 6\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Jeungdo -Slow City<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Jeungdo Island is also known as a &#8220;slow city&#8221;\u00a0due to its laid-back farming lifestyle and small population. \u00a0It is also famous for its unspoiled nature and clean waters. \u00a0It was very windy when we arrived in the morning.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161209_104336.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-2091\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161209_104336-576x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"576\" height=\"1024\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>What do we have in Jeungdo Island? \u00a0Jeungdo Island also has Korea\u2019s largest salt fields.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161209_113839.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-2093\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161209_113839-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"840\" height=\"473\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Once arrived in the &#8216;slow city&#8217;, we came into a salt spa to heal our body from the tiredness for the pass few days traveling in Korea.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Salt Cave Healing Center<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161209_094948e.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-2088\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161209_094948e-918x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"840\" height=\"937\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Once we entered the spa, the surrounding look like a cave to me. \u00a0I would call it\u00a0salt therapy cave. \u00a0The whole place was covered with salt. \u00a0All tour members were lying down to relax for 45min, \u00a0I heard some snoring!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161209_100316.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-2090\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161209_100316-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"840\" height=\"473\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>How can we improve from the salt spa? \u00a0It is believed that dry salt air is more powerful than moist air. The negatively charged ions in salt improve our health and mood. \u00a0I was hoping after inhaling more good salt air here to clear my lung and purifying my skin.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161209_095613.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-2089\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161209_095613-576x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"576\" height=\"1024\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I was quite fascinated by the light in the cave, it made my belt and nails\u00a0colors stand out from the dark.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Salt Museum<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161209_112444e.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-2092\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161209_112444e-761x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"761\" height=\"1024\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I was feeling refresh and good to go again after the salt therapy. \u00a0Our tour guide then took us\u00a0touring\u00a0around Salt Museum to learn more about the<br \/>\nmanufacturing process of salt.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Taepyeong Salt Farm<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is the famous <strong>Taepyeong<\/strong> Salt Farm, also the largest sun-dried salt producer in Korea.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161209_093048.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-2085\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161209_093048-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"840\" height=\"473\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>70 percent of salt distributed in Korea\u00a0is produced in Jeungdo Island. \u00a0This place is surrounded by salt farm.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jjangttungeo Bridge &#8211; wooden trail<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The name of the bridge comes from the image of many mud skippers jumping around the bridge. \u00a0It is also Korea\u2019s first sea bridge constructed with wood.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161209_114112e.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-2094\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161209_114112e-1024x419.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"840\" height=\"344\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The wooden bridge installed for visitors to walk and have a closer look to the salt plant that grow in the mud flat. \u00a0Very strong wind and blazing sunlight and it was freezing cold standing in the middle of the trail, I would become a dried squid if I were to stay for another 10 mins.<\/p>\n<p>One of the best things about Jeungdo Island is the beaches and the natural and low pollution emissions, it make a great place to relax.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jeungdo Set Lunch<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A big and raw squid was given to us, it was quite scary\u00a0because of it huge size. \u00a0It was cooked in front of us for 10 mins and we cut into small pieces with a scissor before dipping with the Korean sauce.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161209_115836.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-2095\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161209_115836-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"840\" height=\"473\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Some greens\u00a0planted outside the restaurant where we had our Squid lunch set.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161209_123953.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-2096\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161209_123953-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"840\" height=\"473\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Jeonju &#8211; Korean Traditional Wedding\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Jeonju literally means<strong> \u5168\u5dde &#8211;<\/strong>&#8220;Perfect Region&#8221;. \u00a0We were at the Cultural Hall to experience the Korean Wedding ceremony.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161209_151647.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-2097\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161209_151647-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"840\" height=\"473\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A series of various cultural traditions, such as Pansori\/Korean story telling with background drum, Minyo\/Korean folk song, traditional dances and performances are all conducted at the cultural hall above which is opened for public.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161209_151916e.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-2099\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161209_151916e-1024x572.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"840\" height=\"469\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Traditional wedding ceremonies are also held at the Traditional Wedding Hall here.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161209_151831e.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-2098\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161209_151831e-913x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"840\" height=\"942\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I was chosen to be the bride for the Korean wedding ceremony, simply because in this ceremony, the bride needed to be flexible as there were many bows and kneeling down action to perform.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161209_162003.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-2100\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161209_162003-576x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"576\" height=\"1024\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A Korean teacher was explaining every details about the wedding Hanbook to all of us.\u00a0 Every little detail in the traditional ceremony means something. \u00a0The dress, accessories, position, food, and even all the bowing and drinking indicate something. \u00a0Korean traditional wedding ceremony is full of colors.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/korea-wedding.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2073\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/korea-wedding.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"1024\" \/><\/a><strong>Dinner Korea Ginseng chicken and Korean beef short ribs soup<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Korean Beef short ribs also known as Galbitang tasted wonderful with rice. \u00a0Use the scissor to cut the meat from the ribs and dip into a special sauce.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161209_184001e.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-2102\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161209_184001e-1024x734.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"840\" height=\"602\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Korean Ginseng chicken also known as &#8220;Samgyetang&#8221; in Korean\u00a0is a must to try when you come to Korea. \u00a0I am not really fancy about ginseng chicken but the restaurant our tour guide brought us is famous for its Ginseng Chicken.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161209_184006e.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-2103\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161209_184006e-1024x616.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"840\" height=\"505\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Interciti Hotel DaeJeon<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We stayed over in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.agoda.com\/partners\/partnersearch.aspx?cid=1769828&amp;pcs=1&amp;hid=43289\">Interciti Hotel<\/a> in DaeJeon. \u00a0DaeJeon is in the central of South Korea, not very far from Seoul, 50 min if travel with high-speed train.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-2101\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161209_170710-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"840\" height=\"473\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Day 6 &#8211;
