{"id":2251,"date":"2017-03-05T23:23:11","date_gmt":"2017-03-05T23:23:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/?p=2251"},"modified":"2017-12-14T04:20:21","modified_gmt":"2017-12-14T04:20:21","slug":"south-korea-round-the-island-with-chan-brothers-day-7","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/2017\/03\/south-korea-round-the-island-with-chan-brothers-day-7\/","title":{"rendered":"South Korea Round the Island &#8211; Day 7 &#8211; Shopping in Myeongdong Seoul"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Scenic Rusty Korea &#8211; Day 7<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Seoul<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This morning we departed from Daejeon to Seoul. \u00a0Once we were in Seoul we had to face a lot of traffic congestion here and there. \u00a0To make the matter worse, there was a protest against the President Park Geun-hye administration&#8217;s political scandal. \u00a0Our bus could not go near Cheong Wa Dae, the stately residence of the Korean President. \u00a0There were hundred of police buses lining up, getting ready for tonight demonstration. \u00a0It was pretty scary to me but I felt the Korean demonstration is very well organised.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161210_105227.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-2104\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161210_105227-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"840\" height=\"473\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Since we could not go visit the President Blue House, our tour guide brought us to a ginseng shop nearby.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ginseng Shopping<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161210_121449.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-2105\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161210_121449-576x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"576\" height=\"1024\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>There\u00a0are 2 big jars of ginseng decorated in front of the lobby once we entered. \u00a0We were guided by a ginseng expect to tell us all about the benefit and history of Ginseng. \u00a0I did not know there is such thing as male and female ginseng.<\/p>\n<p>One of our tour member bought 2 boxes of Ginseng in capsule. One box can last for 1 year. \u00a0She spent about 8k USD for the 2 boxes of Ginseng. \u00a0According to her, she has been consuming ginseng for years and it give her more energy and reduces her\u00a0cholesterol level.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/korea-day6-1.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3170\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/korea-day6-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"1024\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/korea-day6-1.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/korea-day6-1-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/korea-day6-1-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/korea-day6-1-768x768.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Lunch : 8-Color Samgyeopsal BBQ Lunch<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Our lunch was terrific, it was the 8 colors Samgyeopsal BBQ Lunch. \u00a0Why it was 8 colors? \u00a0It is actually marinated in\u00a08 different taste. \u00a0Original, Miso, Wine, Ginseng, Garlic, Herb, Curry, Red Pepper. \u00a0I love the Garlic &amp; Miso &amp; Red pepper most. \u00a0Plenty of meat to eat in BBQ style for lunch today. It was our last meal with Chan Brothers. \u00a0One thing I love about this trip was the food in Korea. \u00a0We were given chance to try various type of Korean cuisine throughout our 8D6N tour with Chan Brothers.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161210_131616e.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-2106\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161210_131616e-1024x353.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"840\" height=\"290\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Below is the entrance of\u00a08-Color Samgyeopsal BBQ restaurant, it was quite narrow because it is located in Seoul.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161210_134832.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-2107\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161210_134832-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"840\" height=\"473\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Odbo Cosmestic<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Today was all about shopping in Seoul. \u00a0We were here at Odbo Cosmetic. First the cosmetic consultant showed us in a private room how to use their product then everyone rushed to purchase Odbo product. \u00a0Some tour members came to Korea very often and never miss buying the Odbo simply because it was so much cheaper here, double to triple of the price back home.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161210_141646e.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-2108\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161210_141646e-637x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"637\" height=\"1024\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Before leaving I also bought few hundred dollars of mask and their skin care products to try.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kimchi School<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We were at the Kimchi School to experience making Kimchi. \u00a0Kimchi is the Korean National dish, a traditional fermented Korean side dish made of vegetables with many type of seasonings. \u00a0The most common Kimchi that is made of cabbages but actually there are hundreds of other variety made with other vegetable like cucumber, spinach, spring onion, seafood such as squid,\u00a0baby crab, little fishes and many others.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161210_160339e.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2109\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161210_160339e.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1021\" height=\"848\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Kimchi School is very big and has many classrooms to facilitate foreigners to enjoy their lesson.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161210_164047e.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-2110\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161210_164047e-565x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"565\" height=\"1024\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>You may like\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/affiliate.klook.com\/jump\/activity\/3052-museum-kimchikan-seoul\/?adid=11883&amp;af_wid=1904\">Museum Kimchikan<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; a museum showcasing all sort of kimchi.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Myeongdong<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Coming to Myeongdong was second time for me. \u00a0I am not a fan of shopping in big city as I do not like crowded area. \u00a0However, Myeongdong is the paradise to shop for cosmetic and skin care product. \u00a0Brand like Etude House, The Face Shop, \u00a0Innisfree can be seen here.<a href=\"\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161210_173108.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-2111\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161210_173108-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"840\" height=\"473\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We were not into a lot of shopping because we had done quite a lot of shopping in the Odbo Cosmetic Center. \u00a0We were looking for the street food instead. \u00a0I found the street food was quite expensive, still we tried few items. \u00a0Most tasted so so only.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161210_174334e.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-2112\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161210_174334e-1024x766.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"840\" height=\"628\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Bought a huge cotton candy\u00a0for dessert for the night.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161210_180211e.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-2113\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/20161210_180211e-722x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"722\" height=\"1024\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Day 7 &#8211;
