<\/p>\nCha Chaan Teng restaurant is something you need to try when visiting Hong Kong. It can be found in every corner in Hong Kong with affordable menus. The setting is usually an old fashion style cafe in the 60s or 70s. The menu is a mixture of western & Chinese food with several of the signature dishes which I had listed below.<\/p>\n
Cha Chaan Teng culture is unique, Hong Kong political officers even suggested that Cha Chaan Teng be listed in the Unesco Intangible Cultural Heritage Lists because of its vital role in Hong Kong society.<\/p>\n

In my recent visit, we had our breakfast in Cha Chaan Teng in Jordon, Kowloon. There are some classics dishes on the menu that you may want to try. Milk tea is a must, Hong Kong style, of course, it’s made with condensed milk in a tin can and their specialty brew tea.\u00a0 Bread bun with slight toast usually consists of a very thick butter filling in the middle. The butter taste salty but super yummy.<\/p>\n

Luo Song Tang Macaroni Soup is my favorite, red vegetable stock with slices of ham, lots of carrots, celery, cabbage, and macaroni.<\/p>\n

Other famous dishes in Cha Chaan Teng are Yuan Yang Milk Tea which is mixed with coffee with tea and pineapple bun or in Cantonese called Polo bun. However, there is no pineapple ingredient, rather, the name refer to the look of the characteristic topping which looks like the texture of a pineapple.\u00a0 And red bean ice, French toast and bake rice with pork chop.<\/p>\n

Cha Chaan Teng restaurant offers a very affordable menu, usually, it has set A, B or C to choose from. The casual dining style is something you may want to experience during your visit to Hong Kong.<\/p>\n
