I had a short getaway in Forest City which is about 40 mins from Singapore last weekend. The hotel was built in the Forest City, a reclaimed land. In fact, there is a huge city with newly built commercial buildings and apartment condominium built in Forest City.<\/p>\n<p>Now, let&#8217;s talk about the Phoenix International Marina Hotel in this post. There are two hotels in Forest City, one is Phoenix Marina Hotel and the other one is located 15 mins from here is the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.agoda.com\/partners\/partnersearch.aspx?pcs=1&amp;cid=1769828&amp;hid=6411048\">Forest City Golf Hotel,<\/a> more for people who intend to play golf.\u00a0 The advantages of staying in<a href=\"https:\/\/www.agoda.com\/partners\/partnersearch.aspx?pcs=1&amp;cid=1769828&amp;hid=2053200\"> Phoenix International Marina Hotel<\/a> is closer to the <a href=\"\/wordpress\/2019\/09\/malaysia-jb-forest-city-shopping-street-eateries-street-review\/\">shopping street and eateries street.<\/a>\u00a0 Hence we choose to stay in the Phoenix hotel instead.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-29258 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/IMG_20190914_114835.jpg\" alt=\"Forest City Phoenix International Marina Hotel Review\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><\/p>\n<p>There is an underground carpark, once we parked our car, we went up to check on the lobby.\u00a0 We arrived before 12 pm noon but we were allowed to have the early check-in which is cool.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-29259 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/IMG_20190914_114854.jpg\" alt=\"Forest City Phoenix International Marina Hotel Review\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The lobby hall is very spacious and there is a corner facing the beach where singers will perform at night.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-29260 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/IMG_20190914_115724.jpg\" alt=\"Forest City Phoenix International Marina Hotel Review\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We have gotten our room on the 7th floor. The surrounding view is pretty impressive, lots of green.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-29262 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/IMG_20190914_115958.jpg\" alt=\"Forest City Phoenix International Marina Hotel Review\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Room Review<\/h3>\n<p>The room is very spacious with a balcony and sea-facing view. The twin sharing beds wasn&#8217;t comfortable enough for me as I find the mattress is a bit soft.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-29265 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/IMG_20190914_120129.jpg\" alt=\"Forest City Phoenix International Marina Hotel Review\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><\/p>\n<p>There is a small working table with light in case guest need to catch up their work.\u00a0 Four complimentary bottled water and some tea &amp; coffee packets are available.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-29266 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/IMG_20190914_120143.jpg\" alt=\"Forest City Phoenix International Marina Hotel Review\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>The wardrobe review<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-29267\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/IMG_20190914_120238.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Inside the wardrobe, there are two bathrobes and two pair of sandals for guests.\u00a0 A safe box with pin number is also available inside the wardrobe.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-29278 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/IMG_20190914_120830.jpg\" alt=\"Forest City Phoenix International Marina Hotel Review\" width=\"1024\" height=\"1365\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Bathroom Review<\/h3>\n<p>The bathroom is very spacious too with an oval shape bathtub sit in the opposite corner of the shower room.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-29268 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/IMG_20190914_120054-1.jpg\" alt=\"Forest City Phoenix International Marina Hotel Review\" width=\"1024\" height=\"699\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I like the shower room with glass door, it is also spacious and allows you to move freely.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-29269 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/IMG_20190914_120101-1.jpg\" alt=\"Forest City Phoenix International Marina Hotel Review\" width=\"1024\" height=\"982\" \/><\/p>\n<p>You will find a hairdryer and even toothbrush &amp; little toothpaste provided at the drawer in the bathroom.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-29277 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/IMG_20190914_120729.jpg\" alt=\"Forest City Phoenix International Marina Hotel Review\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Afternoon Snack<\/h3>\n<p>At around 3 pm, there is some refreshment brought into the room.\u00a0 Some fruits and milk, quite a healthy choice.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-29327 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/IMG_20190914_153953.jpg\" alt=\"Forest City Phoenix International Marina Hotel Review\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>The view from the balcony<\/h3>\n<p>There are two pools when you look down, a bigger and smaller pool.\u00a0 The bigger pool was closed for maintenance but the smaller pool was opened during my visit.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-29274 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/IMG_20190914_120542.jpg\" alt=\"Forest City Phoenix International Marina Hotel Review\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><\/p>\n<p>If you look further, you will see the beach and because of the haze, the view is not very good.\u00a0 Otherwise, you can see the island of Singapore from the balcony.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-29280 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/IMG_20190914_120953.jpg\" alt=\"Forest City Phoenix International Marina Hotel Review\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Night view from the room balcony<\/h3>\n<p>The lights are coming from Singapore Island.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-29348 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/IMG_20190915_062311.jpg\" alt=\"Forest City Phoenix International Marina Hotel Review\" width=\"1024\" height=\"742\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Gym Review<\/h3>\n<p>The Gym is located on the first floor with no air-conditioning.\u00a0 It is very spacious with enough pieces of equipment.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-29283 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/IMG_20190914_121953.jpg\" alt=\"Forest City Phoenix International Marina Hotel Review\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><\/p>\n<p>There is a weight area with lots of dumbells and a barbell.\u00a0 I was trying to show off my overhead squat.\u00a0 Anyway, the total weight is only 15 kgs more or less.\u00a0 The zig-zag barbell is 5kg and both sides of the plate are 5 each, the total is 15 kgs. I usually overhead squat more than 15 kg but this is just to show off, I even didn&#8217;t have a proper gym outfit.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-29285 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/IMG_20190914_122248.jpg\" alt=\"Forest City Phoenix International Marina Hotel Review\" width=\"1024\" height=\"822\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Children Corner<\/h3>\n<p>A little indoor playground for young children is on the first floor, near the restaurant for breakfast.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-29286 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/IMG_20190914_122414.jpg\" alt=\"Forest City Phoenix International Marina Hotel Review\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Bicycle Renting<\/h3>\n<p>Forest City is huge so there is bicycle renting for the guest, about RM 15.00 (USD 3.60\/SGD 5.00) for an hour.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-29287 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/IMG_20190914_122440.jpg\" alt=\"Forest City Phoenix International Marina Hotel Review\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In case you have forgotten to bring your swimsuit, you can purchase at the pool registration counter here.\u00a0 They even offer pool floats to rent out.\u00a0 The big flamingo bird cost RM 40.00 ( USD9.50\/ SGD13.10).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-29288 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/IMG_20190914_122506.jpg\" alt=\"Forest City Phoenix International Marina Hotel Review\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Wedding Corner near the Beach<\/h3>\n<p>This corner here is for couples to have their outdoor wedding vows<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-29331 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/IMG_20190914_173013.jpg\" alt=\"Forest City Phoenix International Marina Hotel Review\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Night entertainment in the hotel lobby<\/h3>\n<p>There is a singer who sings from 8 to 10.30 pm on Saturday at the lobby.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-29344 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/IMG_20190914_194127.jpg\" alt=\"Forest City Phoenix International Marina Hotel Review\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>SkyBar &amp; KTV<\/h3>\n<p>The sky bar and KTV karaoke are at the top level 13.\u00a0 The Sky Bar is called Sirocco which offers great views from the indoor but it also has outdoor seating too. The rooftop bar with an excellent western menu cum local fusion.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-29345 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/IMG_20190914_194736.jpg\" alt=\"Forest City Phoenix International Marina Hotel Review\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Breakfast Review<\/h3>\n<p>The restaurant for breakfast is on the 1st floor and I was shocked to see so many guests there because at night there weren&#8217;t many guests around in the lobby.\u00a0 The seatings are almost full!\u00a0 The choice of breakfast is average with local Malaysian nasi lemak, Chinese bun and western sausages, and fries.
