Sometimes it is called Lake Hume and it has also become an important recreation and tourist location in Albury.\u00a0 When I was here early in the morning, there are already some locals and tourists.<\/p>\n<p>If you love engineering and architecture, then you need to check out Hume Dam in Albury. I have visited two other dams when I travel, <a href=\"\/wordpress\/2017\/02\/japan-8-days-self-drive-in-central-region-day-4-tateyama-toyama-prefecture\/\">Kurobe Dam in Central Japan<\/a> and <a href=\"\/wordpress\/2018\/02\/hoover-dam-lake-mead-at-nevada-usa-selfdrive\/\">Hoover Dam in America<\/a>. At Albury Wodonga, there are many picnic and camping sites on the shores of the Lake. Fishing is another great pastime.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-29663 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/IMG_20190611_094554.jpg\" alt=\"Australia Hume Dam in Albury-Wodonga\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>History of Hume Dam<\/h3>\n<p>It took about 17 years to build, began in 1919 and officially opened in 1936.
