Unlike many other places in Barcelona, this is free entry so there is no harm just to drop by and have a look around.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-29872 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/20181228_150900.jpg\" alt=\"Olympic Stadium Barcelona, Spain\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The stadium was first built in preparation for the International Expo in 1929 then was renovated before the Summer Olympics in 1992. The core was removed and they left only the outer facades. They also repaired and rebuilt new stands to replace the older unsafe ones.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-29882 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/20181228_151239.jpg\" alt=\"Olympic Stadium Barcelona, Spain\" width=\"1024\" height=\"618\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Estadi Ol\u00edmpic Llu\u00eds Companys formerly known as the Estadi Ol\u00edmpic de Montju\u00efc (1989-2001) was captured in one of the bin in the stadium.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-29889 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/20181228_151412.jpg\" alt=\"Olympic Stadium Barcelona, Spain\" width=\"1024\" height=\"924\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Gift Shop is open if you need some souvenirs to bring back home. A little cafe is also available to get snacks or drinks. It used for a multi-purpose arena, including world-class ports meetings to music concerts. Famous international stars such as Madonna, Frank Sinatra and Beyonce host concerts here.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-29896 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/20181228_151824.jpg\" alt=\"Olympic Stadium Barcelona, Spain\" width=\"1024\" height=\"643\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Montju\u00efc Communications Tower<\/h3>\n<p>The eye-catching slender structure sits near the stadium, it looks unique and makes me wonder what it is.<\/p>\n<p>It is the communication tower built to help transmit television coverage of the Olympic Games back in 1992. Now, the tower has become a cute symbol of the Olympics and the city of Barcelona.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-29854 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/20181228_150622.jpg\" alt=\"Olympic Stadium Barcelona, Spain\" width=\"1024\" height=\"1365\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Final thoughts:<\/h3>\n<p>The Barcelona Olympic stadium sits behind of the Museu Nacional d&#8217;Art de Catalunya in Montju\u00efc hill.
