We choose to land in Gold Coast Airport situated in the suburb of Bilinga near Coolangatta, about 90km south of the center of Brisbane. The old name is called Coolangatta Airport.\u00a0 Aboriginal word meaning &#8220;Place of Good View&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-30291 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/20190601_072555.jpg\" alt=\"Australia Gold Coast Airport ( OOL ) Review\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Why do we choose the Gold Coast Airport?<\/h3>\n<p>We choose to land in Gold Coast because we planned to stay a few days in <a href=\"\/wordpress\/2019\/06\/surfers-paradise-gold-coast-queensland-australia\/\">Surfers Paradise<\/a> and there are cheap flights land here. Surfer Paradise is only 25 km away from the airport.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-30293 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/20190601_080344.jpg\" alt=\"Australia Gold Coast Airport ( OOL ) Review\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>One Terminal for both International &amp; Domestic<\/h3>\n<p>Gold Coast Airport is small so it is easy to navigate, all domestic and international flights operate from the same terminal and there is only one terminal. There are few duty-free shops in case you need some cigarettes and alcohol.\u00a0 Please expect minimum from this airport and only a very basic and old-school terminal, not many food outlets and shops.\u00a0 If you have this expectation in mind, you will not be disappointed.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-30295 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/20190601_080357.jpg\" alt=\"Australia Gold Coast Airport ( OOL ) Review\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><\/p>\n<p>However, it is the 6th busiest airport in Australia, serving more than 5.7 million passengers in 2013-14.\u00a0 This is because there are many people flying in for the iconic Surfers Paradise Beach in Queensland.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-30296 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/IMG_20190601_072624.jpg\" alt=\"Australia Gold Coast Airport ( OOL ) Review\" width=\"1024\" height=\"565\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Airlines<\/h3>\n<p>Some of the airlines that operate here are AirAsia X, Jetstar, Scoot, Tigerair, Virgin, Air New Zealand &amp; Qantas.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-30297 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/IMG_20190601_073537.jpg\" alt=\"Australia Gold Coast Airport ( OOL ) Review\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Departure Hall<\/h3>\n<p>There are many self-check-in kiosks in the departure hall for both domestically and internationally. The one-way ticket cost about $15 with free wifi.<\/p>\n<p>Gold Coast Airport does not have any train connection. If you have already booked online, go to the counter and show them your voucher.
