Some call it vandalism and it can cost you some fortune (3K euro) if being caught. Some call it street arts. During my visit to Barcelona Spain, I had experienced some of the thriving street art scenes, some are really awesome urban art and some are just graffiti in every corner of Barcelona city. After all, Barcelona, Spain is the place well-known for some of the famous artists -eg Picasso.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-30429 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/20181228_141523.jpg\" alt=\"Spain - Barcelona Street Arts\" width=\"1024\" height=\"536\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Best time to check out street art<\/h3>\n<p>In case you are not aware, the best time to spot street arts or graffitis during Spain Siesta hour, (afternoon nap or rest timing). During the siesta hour, usually from 2-5 pm, many of the Spanish shops or restaurants will be closing. Many of the metal shutters (gate) will be pulled down when the business is closed. These shutters are where you could find interesting street arts. During my trip to <a href=\"\/wordpress\/2019\/09\/top-17-things-to-do-in-valencia-spain\/\">Valencia<\/a>, the third-largest city in Spain, I have seen many of the metal shutters painted with beautiful street arts. What a brilliant way to decorate the streets and make it so interesting. Who draws this beautiful artwork on the metal shutters? Shop owners commission some street artists to help them decorate the metal shutter (gate).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-29492 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/20181227_165835.jpg\" alt=\"Spain - Barcelona Street Arts\" width=\"1024\" height=\"1388\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Best spot for Street Arts in Barcelona<\/h3>\n<p><strong>The Gothic Quarter<\/strong> is known as the heart of Barcelona&#8217;s old town. Some of the iconic landmarks are here so if you are in this neighborhood, pay a little attention to the street arts in this area.<\/p>\n<p><strong>El Raval &#8211;<\/strong>Corner of the Carrer de Sant Pau and Carrer de la Riereta<br \/>\nOver here you will find some interesting pieces of mural street art.\u00a0 Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art is located in El Raval. This area can be a little bit tricky so do not go to the dark corner alone.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Poblenou<\/strong> -This is a hip district with many cafes and tapas bars, located a little bit outside of the city center. You also see many of the old converted factories housing tech offices and design showrooms. Over here you will realize it is the playground of the local street artists.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-30431 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/20181228_141907.jpg\" alt=\"Spain - Barcelona Street Arts\" width=\"1024\" height=\"417\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Drawing on walls isn&#8217;t something new, from the prehistoric period, human draw painting on the cave across the world. Now we have street arts and Graffiti which contain political messages, subcultural visual communication, cryptic language &amp; esoteric social commentary. Some even bring out joy, happiness, and a sense of humor.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-30433 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/20181228_152845.jpg\" alt=\"Spain - Barcelona Street Arts\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Final thoughts:<\/h3>\n<p>I end the final section with Banksy&#8217;s (World-famous street artist from the UK) quote &#8211; \u201cPeople say graffiti is ugly, irresponsible and childish&#8230; but that&#8217;s only if it&#8217;s done properly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>If you love street arts and live in Singapore, you are welcome to enjoy the beautiful street art and murals at <a href=\"\/wordpress\/2017\/05\/life-like-rainbow-kampong-glam-malay-heritage-center-singapore\/\">Kampong Glam Haji Lane<\/a> in Singapore.\u00a0 Highly recommended!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-30435 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/20181228_152851.jpg\" alt=\"Spain - Barcelona Street Arts\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>You may also like :<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"\/wordpress\/2019\/10\/melbourne-street-art-at-hosier-lane\/\">Melbourne Street Art at Hosier Lane<\/a><\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Barcelona street arts is amazing, you see them almost everywhere.
