From jaw-dropping architecture, great Mediterranean hospitality to delicious tapas, I have lots of love for this vibrant and stunning city.\u00a0 Check out the things to look at in Barcelona.<\/p>\n<h3><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-30983 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/20181228_142839.jpg\" alt=\"Spain : Barcelona City Tour\" width=\"1024\" height=\"726\" \/><\/h3>\n<h3>1. Les Ramblas<\/h3>\n<p>Les Ramblas is the landmark for Barcelona city and it is a large boulevard that runs through the heart of the city center. Joan Miro&#8217;s circular tile work, crafted by the artist himself right on the street is one of the must-sees when you are in Les Ramblas.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-30952 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/20181228_141436.jpg\" alt=\"Spain : Barcelona City Tour\" width=\"1024\" height=\"1574\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>2. Las Arenas Barcelona<\/h3>\n<p>The outer look is bullring but now it is a shopping center with a good selection of restaurants and viewing platforms on top. This bullring was the second of 3 bullfighting rings built in Barcelona. Due to the decline of bullfighting business in Barcelona, the arena turned into a shopping center and entertainment complex. Glad that the original facade is well maintained and topped by a high dome and circular roof terrace. You should go up the rooftop to check out the unique feature.\u00a0 Bullfight is ban in the Catalan region, Barcelona.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-30959 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/20181228_142249.jpg\" alt=\"Spain : Barcelona City Tour\" width=\"1024\" height=\"619\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>3. Monument Fountain in The Pla\u00e7a Espanya<\/h3>\n<p>This is one of the iconic images of Barcelona which has several interesting sculptures. Designed by one of Gaudi&#8217;s main associates, Josep Maria Jujol.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-30960 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/20181228_142256.jpg\" alt=\"Spain : Barcelona City Tour\" width=\"1024\" height=\"1261\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>4. Fira de Barcelona<\/h3>\n<p>This is one of the biggest exhibition centers in Europe, designed by the Japanese architect Toyo Ito. Lots of trade shows held here yearly.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-30976\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/20181228_142659.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"\/wordpress\/2019\/10\/montjuic-hill-offers-the-best-view-of-barcelona-skyline\/\">5. Montju\u00efc<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>I have done a separate post on <a href=\"\/wordpress\/2019\/10\/montjuic-hill-offers-the-best-view-of-barcelona-skyline\/\">Montju\u00efc<\/a>, an important hill overlooking Barcelona city. The meaning of Montju\u00efc is Jewish Mountain. The grand building at the backdrop is Pla\u00e7a Espa\u00f1a and is also known as MNAC, a museum that has the largest collection of Catalan art in the world.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-30981\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/20181228_142806.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"630\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>6. Barcelona Cable Cars<\/h3>\n<p>You need to know there are two cable cars in Barcelona, the <a href=\"https:\/\/affiliate.klook.com\/jump\/en-CA\/activity\/13346-montjuic-cable-car-ticket-barcelona\/?gclid=CjwKCAiAzanuBRAZEiwA5yf4ukGI7yUluFLorKPMLmadqtVCFOPBgZsLFa187PCKYdo-AnNziQQagBoCINsQAvD_BwE&amp;adid=82031&amp;af_wid=1904\">Montju\u00efc Cable Car<\/a> and the Port Cable Car. Choose Montju\u00efc cable car which goes up the famous hill and get panoramic vies of Barcelona.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-30988\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/20181228_152407.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"617\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>7. Columbus Monument<\/h3>\n<p>Columbus monument towering 60 metres into the air, super high and there is a lift running through the center of the tower that takes you to the top where you will have the panoramic view of the city.\u00a0 The monument is placed at the site where Christopher Columbus arrived in 1493 after his discovery of America the year before.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-31002\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/20181228_153117.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"1365\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>8. Port Ol\u00edmpic<\/h3>\n<p>The Port Ol\u00edmpic is a nice marina located in the east of the Port of Barcelona. 1992 Summer Olympics sailing events held here.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-31009\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/20181228_153157.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"495\" \/><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"styles__heading___mD4_3\" data-radium=\"true\">9. Palau de Mar<\/h3>\n<p>This huge brick edifice was built in the 1880s as a storage depot for goods arriving from the port. Now the building houses a museum (Catalan History Museum) with a rooftop restaurant.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-31023\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/20181228_153629.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"843\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>10. El Corte Ingl\u00e9s Department Store<\/h3>\n<p>El Corte Ingl\u00e9s Department Store offers almost everything in one roof. Also one of the biggest department store group in Spain. There is one at Pla\u00e7a de Catalunya, also the largest.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-31041\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/20181228_154245.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"1268\" \/><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"title-page\">11. Pla\u00e7a de Catalunya<\/h3>\n<p>In English, it means &#8220;Catalonia Square&#8221;, a large square in central Barcelona. It is a popular meeting point which connects the old city with the new and is famous for its shopping, monuments and festival celebrations.<br \/>\nThe University of Barcelona is located near Pla\u00e7a de Catalunya (2 mins walk), in case you have a special interest like me to visit the University.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-31050\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/20181228_154859.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"625\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>12. Casa Amatller<\/h3>\n<p>Casa Amatller is an important Modernisme style building designed by the Catalan Spanish modernista architect Josep Puig i Gadafalch.<\/p>\n<p>Puig i Cadafalch used what has been described as an urban gothic design for the Amatller house with a flat facade and a central interior patio with stairs that gave access to the main apartment, even though there were 20 flats in the building.<\/p>\n<h3><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-31063\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/20181228_155448.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"926\" \/>13. Casa Batll\u00f3<\/h3>\n<p>Next to Casa Amatller, is Casa Batllo &#8211; another masterpiece of Antoni Gaudi. But this one is a universe of symbolism, a canvas of marine inspiration, you see blue color on the outer wall of the building. The entire facade tiles with a mosaic composed of pieces of glass and ceramic discs, giving an undulating surface. It was nicknamed as &#8220;House of Bones&#8221; because the balconies at the lower floors have bone-like pillar and those on the upper floors look like pieces of skulls. You will not see straight lines in this building as he has a special love for curves.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-31064\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/20181228_155451.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"1080\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>14. Casa Mil\u00e0<\/h3>\n<p>Casa Mila is the last private residence designed by architect Antoni Gaudi and was built between 1906 and 1912. It is also known as La Pedrera, one of the unusual building with Gaudi&#8217;s signature style. The view from the roof is amazing and the interior is pretty insane. Always a long queue.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-31074\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/20181228_160355.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"m_b_b font-headline-base\" data-automation=\"ImageDetailsPage_Details\">15. The Rotulos Roura building with large owl neon sign<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-31082\" src=\"http:\/\/thinkerten.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/20181228_161855.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"926\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Final thoughts:<\/h3>\n<p>Barcelona is a fun and energetic cities in the world.
