This is the second time to visit Changi Jewel, the first time we explored Jewel, just the Rain Vortex itself took us for almost an hour, just checking out the water falling down from the top from a different floor. Having said that, it is still pretty amazing to look at the huge tub of water falling down from top to the bottom. And by the time we finished looking at Rain Vortex, it was almost lunchtime so we could not make it to other attractions. This time we are well prepared and we bought the bundle tickets online to enjoy some discount, usually when you get ticket online you can get some discount.<\/p>\n

Let’s check out one by one here.\u00a0 Before that let me show you some of the pictures in Changi Jewel.<\/p>\n

\"SingaporeCrystal cloud installation<\/h3>\n

In total there are 16 shimmering crystal clouds frame the light-filled gateway to Jewel. These are made of stainless steel wire mesh, Swarovski crystals.\u00a0 (picture above)<\/p>\n

Toilet Review in Changi Jewel<\/h3>\n

Before we started exploring the fun attractions, we went to the restroom. So surprised to find out that it was warm when I sit on the toilet bowl.\u00a0 Immediately, I take a look at the side, there is a panel of buttons for you to press, just like those advanced toilet bowls in Japan. The warm seat really has given me a shock, Singapore has hot weather here so there is no need to turn on the heat for the seat.<\/p>\n

Canopy Bridge<\/h3>\n

Canopy Bridge has a glass-bottom at the center portion and fog emitted at both ends so the experience should be like walking among the clouds. The bridge’s glass floor panels allow you to see through, you can see through the bridge to the first floor. If you are afraid of height, it will be a thrilling experience. The Canopy Bridge also serves as a vantage point for visitors to look at the Rain Vortex from another angle. But I was kind of disappointed to learn that the Canopy Bridge is only 50 m long so it is really a short walk from one end to the other, not really worth it to get in and pay for the entrance fees of SGD8.00. You can actually view the Rain Vortex from the other side and it looks nothing different.<\/p>\n

Hedge Maze Jewel<\/h3>\n

Thank goodness the Hedge Maze aren’t too big, else I will be stuck inside for hours. The manicured hedgerow is really pleasant to walk around and get lost. There is a watchtower for you to climb up and look from the top too, you get a bird’s eye view of the maze.<\/p>\n

There is another thing worth mentioning in hedge maze, you will come to a section with a pleasant surprise,\u00a0 the artificial flowers bloom open as you walk past. I actually get a shock when the flowers suddenly pop out from nowhere.\u00a0 The colorful, motion-activated flowers react to passerby do offer a unique experience.<\/p>\n

The Hedge Maze is not too hard to navigate at all due to its small size and there are several exit signs to point you to the way out.<\/p>\n

\"SingaporeMirror Maze<\/h3>\n

First, a form stick was given to you and you wonder why you need one. Then the staff leads you to a tv that gives you a minutes briefing before you step into the Mirror Maze.<\/p>\n

I am actually like the Mirror Maze, music was aired in the background when you step into the Mirror Maze.\u00a0 You see neon lights and mirrors all over. Then I realized why we were given form sticks, it helps us to find our way and avoid bumping into the mirrors or people around.<\/p>\n

I have to say Mirror Maze would be the highlight here. The size of the Mirror Maze isn’t that big but with mirrors all over, you can be stuck inside for a while.<\/p>\n

Topiary Walk<\/h3>\n

There are few animal topiaries on display, go find them and shoot some pictures with these colorful features.\u00a0 Seasonal displays of flowers are also available at the Petal Garden.<\/p>\n

Foggy Bowls is in Canopy Park, you will find few concave bowls in various depths. Look carefully, you will notice mist coming out from the bowls.<\/p>\n

Manulife Skynet<\/h3>\n

There are actually two sections for the sky net, the walking and bouncing section. We were on the walking net so there is no bouncing allow. You won’t dare to bounce too as it needs some stability to walk on the net. When we first climb up to the net, it feels nothing at all but when we were in the middle of the net, you learn that your legs are shaking when you look down, it is 25m high, five floors above the ground level.\u00a0 When your legs are shaking, it makes it even harder to finish the walk.<\/p>\n

By the time we finished exploring all the fun attractions, it was about noontime and it’s time to have our lunch.<\/p>\n

Hundreds of retails and dining outlets in Jewel, the last time we had Yunnans Chinese cuisine, and this time, we choose Vietnamese at So Pho. See what we have here.<\/p>\n

Rice noodles with marble beef, fried spring rolls, and their special sauce.\u00a0 The beef was generously given and of good quality.<\/p>\n

Their signature beef noodles pho tasted awesome, especially the broth.\u00a0 Serve well with sliced beef and beef balls.<\/p>\n

Softshell crab with stir fry pad thai.<\/p>\n

Mango glutenous rice as our desserts, the rice serves warm with touches of gula Melaka. This completes our lunch.<\/p>\n

Final thoughts:<\/h3>\n

Of all the paid attractions above, Mirror Maze is my favorite. The bundle package we bought includes Canopy Park, Canopy Bridge, Hedge Maze, Mirror Maze, and Sky net walking only. It cost SGD 38 but with DBS promotion, we paid $30.40 for an adult. Canopy bridge is a total disappointment as the bridge is really short and there is not much difference if you view the Rain Vortex from other areas in Changi which cost you nothing. Sky net was fun to walk and give you shaky legs when you look down all the way to the ground floor but then it is such a short distance. To sum it up, every attraction is pretty small.\u00a0 There is no need to spend SGD38 for these attractions at all.\u00a0 Just visit Changi Jewel for the Rain Vortex & Shisheido Garden for free and then do some window shopping and dining here.<\/p>\n
