Before leaving Yean Kee Beef Noodles, I asked the lady boss which shop the locals preferred, since several places make similar mooncakes. The <strong data-start=\"716\" data-end=\"738\">lotus and red bean<\/strong> were exceptional\u2014the egg yolk blended perfectly with the filling, not too sweet, and the <strong data-start=\"828\" data-end=\"852\">Shanghai-style crust<\/strong> was soft and flavorful. I even ate an <strong data-start=\"891\" data-end=\"919\">entire mooncake that day<\/strong>, which is a personal record\u2014usually, I only manage a quarter! On <strong data-start=\"562\" data-end=\"573\">Level 6<\/strong>, there\u2019s a <strong data-start=\"585\" data-end=\"602\">swimming pool<\/strong> and the <strong data-start=\"611\" data-end=\"651\">restaurant where breakfast is served<\/strong>. If you\u2019re not driving, this is a convenient choice. Plus, right next door is <strong data-start=\"264\" data-end=\"283\">Star Restaurant<\/strong>, a popular spot for delicious Chinese cuisine.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"67\" data-end=\"513\">After resting for <strong data-start=\"85\" data-end=\"109\">2 hours at the hotel<\/strong> to escape the afternoon heat \u2014 and also because we woke up <strong data-start=\"169\" data-end=\"226\">really early 5 am to beat the crowd at the Woodland border<\/strong> \u2014 we headed to <strong data-start=\"242\" data-end=\"269\">Kluang city around 4 pm<\/strong> to check out the street art. You can either walk or drive, but since we were feeling a bit lazy, we <strong data-start=\"370\" data-end=\"379\">drove<\/strong>, which was convenient because parking in Kluang town is easy to find. After all, it\u2019s a small town with plenty of <strong data-start=\"494\" data-end=\"510\">free parking<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"515\" data-end=\"826\">The street art features a lot of <strong data-start=\"548\" data-end=\"556\">bats<\/strong>, which ties into the town\u2019s name. <strong data-start=\"591\" data-end=\"603\">\u201cKluang\u201d<\/strong> in Malay means <strong data-start=\"619\" data-end=\"626\">bat<\/strong>, specifically the flying fox. Back in the old days, the area had plenty of bats, which is why the town got its name. You\u2019ll also notice that the <strong data-start=\"772\" data-end=\"786\">bat symbol<\/strong> is used as a town icon around Kluang.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"515\" data-end=\"826\">Old Photography Shop in Kluang town<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"515\" data-end=\"826\">I also popped into an <strong data-start=\"71\" data-end=\"95\">old photography shop<\/strong> run by a lovely elderly couple in their 70s and 80s. To support their business, I bought a few <strong data-start=\"191\" data-end=\"214\">wooden photo frames<\/strong>. The total for three frames came to <strong data-start=\"251\" data-end=\"259\">RM71<\/strong>, and the old lady even offered me a <strong data-start=\"296\" data-end=\"312\">RM1 discount<\/strong>. Since I only had RM1 in cash, I decided to <strong data-start=\"357\" data-end=\"381\">give her RM71 anyway<\/strong> \u2014 it felt good to support their shop.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"51\" data-end=\"221\">For dinner, we wanted to try a nice sit-down place, so we headed to<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"51\" data-end=\"221\"><strong data-start=\"119\" data-end=\"138\">6.
