I spent three Sunday evening to explore the Southern Ridges & the Hortpark in Singapore, spent about 1.5 hour each time. \u00a0If you like to enjoy a panoramic view of the verdant greenery in these parks, this is the unique outdoor experience for you. \u00a0The parks are HortPark, Kent Ridges, Mount Faber and Telok Blangah Hill all located at the southwest part of Singapore.<\/p>\n

\"HortPark<\/a><\/p>\n

The Interlace Condo\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

A very stunning design of condo called The Interlace can be seen before entering the Alexandria Arch. \u00a0\u00a0What make the building unique is the apartments stacked in a hexagonal arrangement and had won top prize of World Architecture Festival!<\/p>\n

1. Alexandra Arch & Henderson Waves<\/strong><\/p>\n

Alexandra Arc – Opened leaf shape<\/strong><\/p>\n

First Sunday evening, I explored the Alexandra Arch. \u00a0It is a bridge spanning Alexandra Road and connects the Forest Walk of the Southern Ridges Walk to the Hilltop Walk. \u00a0The bridge tilted arch like an opened leaf which was completed in 2008 and are part of government’s plan to enhance the Southern Ridges as a recreational destination.<\/p>\n

Forest Walk<\/strong><\/p>\n

Forest Walk\u00a0offers a bird’s-eye view of the forest as the bridge was built quite high up! \u00a0Come join me for the jog.<\/p>\n

Preston Road Singapore<\/strong><\/p>\n

Some old colonial house in black and white, I just wonder if the houses are open for business or residential so went to have a closer look.<\/p>\n

Henderson Waves \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"Henderson<\/a><\/p>\n

Henderson Road and Alexandra Road respectively, the two pedestrian bridges have striking designs that make them easy landmarks. \u00a0Personally I find Henderson Waves is more unique and pretty as compared to Alexandra Arch.<\/p>\n

Henderson Waves is also the highest pedestrian bridge in Singapore, connecting Mount Faber Park to Telok Blangah Hill Park. \u00a0The bridge is At 36 metres above Henderson Road.<\/p>\n

What makes this pedestrian bridge unique is its stunning wave-like structure made up of seven undulating curved steel ribs that alternately go above and below its deck. \u00a0The curved ribs form function as shelters with seats within, making them great place to hang out.<\/p>\n

When I was there in the Sunday evening, I saw many people sit on the Balau wood bridge, relaxing and enjoying the panoramic view of the city, harbor and the Southern Islands.<\/p>\n

There are lights turn on at the bridges when the sky turn dark so you don’t have to be worry as you are still able to find your way back.<\/p>\n

\"Forest<\/a><\/p>\n

When the sky turn dark, the bridge has a different look, it actually became more attractive with all the light up.<\/p>\n

2. Telok Blangah Hill Park & Mount Faber<\/strong><\/p>\n

My second Sunday evening walk \u00a0was exploring the Telok Blangah Hill Park & Mount Faber.<\/p>\n

Alkaff Mansion
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

I started my walk from Alkaff Mansion, there is a open space car park nearby.<\/p>\n

\"Alkaff<\/a><\/p>\n

The old mansion in white is now closed for business. \u00a0It was empty and look a bit creepy in the evening when I was there. \u00a0Built in 1918, the mansion is once the holiday home of Alkaff family, a rich Arab descendant and recently used as an Italian restaurant.<\/p>\n

Sembcorp Forest of Giants<\/strong><\/p>\n

The forest has a collection of more than 600 trees that were planted to raise awareness for reforestation. \u00a0There is a washroom nearby, water cooler and soft drinks vending machine if you need a break.<\/p>\n

Reflection at Kepple Bay Condo<\/strong><\/p>\n

On\u00a0the way to Mount Faber you can spot The Reflection at Keppel Bay, the waterfront condo from the jungle walk.<\/p>\n

Faber Peak<\/strong><\/p>\n

When I was there on the Sunday evening, a couple were having their wedding there. \u00a0This is also the place to catch the cable car<\/a> to Sentosa.<\/p>\n
