Australia Melbourne St Kilda’s Novotel – Hotel Review

This is not the first time we stayed in Novotel when we were in Sydney, we stayed in Novotel Sydney Central. Novotel has a 4-star international rating and usually located in the heart of major cities, CBD and tourist destinations. In short, Novotel always has an ideal location.  Our stay at Novotel so far has been pleasant, comfortable and relaxing.

When we were visiting Melbourne, we choose to stay in St Kilda, a very lovely neighborhood for the beach proximity and away from the hustle and bustle of the city.  Guess what, it only takes 20 mins by tram to reach the Melbourne CBD area and Chinatown.  The Novotel St Kilda also offers breathtaking views of the ocean!

Let’s find out Novotel St Kilda Melbourne.

Facilities

Some of the activities guests can utilize is the swimming pool, massage/beauty center, jacuzzi, massage, and the outdoor heated pool.  You can also browse through the book collection in the hotel’s library.  Yes, it has a fitness center too.

Our booking does not include breakfast but you can include breakfast if you need one. We prefer to go to Melbourne Chinatown to have our yam cha as it serves the best yam cha dim sum in Australia.

Nearby Attractions

Luna Park & St Kilda Pier is just across the street from the hotel, less than 5 minutes walk. You should also check out the Sunday Arts & Crafts Market and Acland Street, which is a prime shopping and dining area.

If you love photography, then drive for 15 mins to see the colorful bathing boxes in Brighton Beach.

Tram Stop

There a number of tram stop outside the St Kilda Novotel. You can get your Myki card (smart card ticketing system) at the Metro premium stations, or at 7-Eleven store. There is one 7-Eleven store near Novotel, about 5 minutes’ walk from the hotel.  We parked our car in the hotel and catch the tram down to the CBD area and Chinatown.

Note: You don’t need a myki if you’re only traveling in the city’s Free Tram Zone or on the City Circle Tram.

Final thoughts:

Novotel Hotel St Kilda has a wonderful location, the hotel room looks out over the picturesque Port Philip Bay and is located right on the St Kilda beach. Lots of nice restaurants, cafes, and bars around so getting something to eat with a good view is not an issue at all.  The tram is just right in front of the hotel so going to Melbourne city is super convenient, park your car in the hotel and ride the tram.
