When you are in Barcelona Spain and wanted to have some Chinese food, then check out Shanghai 1930 located at Carrer de Buenos Aires, 11, 13, 08029 Barcelona.
During our Spain tour and when we arrived in Barcelona we wanted to taste some Chinese cuisine so we ended up at 1930 Shanghai Restaurant. The restaurant has different spaces with different decoration and designs.
The restaurant is designed with themes of East and West; Chinese and Spanish.
Chinese Masks and some old pictures of Chinese ladies in Qipao are used to decorate the whole restaurant.
An imitation of Antoni Gaudi’s sculpture of a Salamander mosaic was also seen.

Famous people who visited the 1930 Shanghai restaurant. You can even spot the Chinese politician frequent this restaurant. So I am expecting good quality food served.

Food Review
The first dish is always soup and this is seaweed soup with carrots. Then followed by the egg omelet.

Final thoughts:
The decoration of the 1930 Shanghai restaurant is interesting with lots of Chinese themes all over, such as the Chinese Masks and the Chinese lady in Qipao dress. It has a very old atmosphere and space is huge; cater to the different groups – eg parties or just 2-4 people seating. The food was quite normal for us as we are coming from Asia but it is said to be one of the best in town. However, the portion is quite big and with a reasonable price. I would not complain much as we missed some Chinese food after eating tapas and Jamon for the past few days in Spain.
