We experience twice with World Dream “Cruise to Nowhere” within 6 months time, well since we are not allowed to travel out of Singapore, we just booked again with World Dream. Furthermore, there is a promotion for 3 nights at only SGD189 per person. It is a super good deal since it covers almost everything on the ship, food and accommodation, and most of the activities.
I have done 2 youtube/blog on Dream Cruise but this one here is about what are the activities I join in World Dream. This will give you rough ideas when you board on the ship and have a heads-up.
The first day was kind of rush, boarding time starts at 2 pm and the ship only departs at 9 pm. I know there are people who board the ship at 5 pm.
I would suggest you come early for the swab test and then board the ship at 2 pm, that way you get more time to enjoy the cruise ship. After boarding, it takes some time to look at the facilities and get familiarize with the ship. World Dream is huge, it takes some time to navigate.
Upon checking in, you will be given the Daily newsletter and it has all the activities and timing, and location.
1. Dazzle Trio – Hokkien Chacha Night & Music by the Sea
After our dinner, we went to listen to live music by Dazzle Trio. They are Malaysian Chinese singing group and they speak multi-languages and dialects. They sing Chinese, Cantonese, Hokkien, Malay, English songs. The Dazzle Trio consists of 2 girls and 1 guy. They are aunties and uncles’ favorite.
Pro tips, go early to secure a seat. Once the venue is full, they will ask you to leave and it is first come first serve basis.
The last night, we watched again Dazzle Trio performance but this time the location is at Zouk Beach Club, they performed Teresa Teng’s song as it is a tribute to Teresa Teng.
2. Thai Cha Cha Line dance
Thai Chacha was conducted at pool deck 16, it is very spacious. The moves are quite easy for beginners to pick up. A lot of funny and silly moves, overall quite entertaining.
3. VR Game
Additional fees are needed to experience the VR Game. Watch out for promotion on the newsletter, certain timing it has a discount. We paid $18 for 2 games per person and each game only lasts for 5 mins.
4. Chest
The Big Chest is located near deck 16, it is free.
5. Rock Climbing Thrill
The rock wall is located on Deck 18, 2 level higher than the pool. There are few courses varying in difficulty for you to try on, usually, they will let you try the easiest route, then followed by a harder one. Remember to bring in your own socks but rock climbing shoes will be provided. I try my very best to reach the top and that’s 23.4 feet high. Don’t worry, staff will help to strap you with the safety harness before you climb up.
6. The Rope Course
The first time with Dream Cruise, I dare not to try out the rope course as it looks super scary, especially if you are afraid of heights. The second time with Dream Cruise, I told myself I needed to go up to have a look. Wow, the stunning view of the open sea makes the whole worthwhile. Safety harness is all up and you need some techniques to hook it and unhook.
7. Zipline
The final zipline is the best, it is not very scary at all as you just sit and slide over to the other end. The view overlooking the big ocean is awesome.
8. Zouk Beach Club Movie
There are a few shows aired in Zouk Beach Club.
9. Thai Songkran Festival
This is fun as you get to play with water gun and water pouring to the people.
10. Pool and Jaccuzzi
Water activities are a must when we do cruise, the pool and jacuzzi have limited guests in each slot. The water in the jacuzzi is warm but the water in the pool is a bit cold.
Do some warm-up first before you jump in the pool for a swim.
11. Water Slides
In total there are 6 waterslides. The orange one is located at the children’s pool, it is for beginners or someone who has never tried out slides in their life. Go try the orange slide then move on to the more advanced slides that are in color blue and white.
12. Hat decorating activities and competition
13. Stretch and Reach
This complimentary session was taught by the Ukraine professional acrobat, she is tall and beautiful and most importantly so flexible. Many of the moves, we can’t achieve.
14. Sepak Takraw
15. Belly Dancing Class
16. Soap Craving workshop
17. Sound and Light Show
18. World Dream Bingo
19. Gym session
Final thoughts
Please go 15 mins earlier before the activities start, once it is full they will not allow you to join the class. Join as many activities as possible and many of the complimentary classes are taught by professional dancers and singers or craftman.
In this blog, you will not find the dream show performances and restaurants review covered here. If you want to get to know a more comprehensive dream cruise, check out my other blog or youtube.
