Top 5 reasons to ride Singapore Flyer with VIP premium package

Have you used your Singaporediscover voucher already? If not, why not use it with Singapore Flyer? We tried out the Singapore Flyer Premium Beverage Flight which cost a little more expensive than the normal ticket.

Why choose the premium? Actually, this is not how we usually do things. Well, this time we wanted to give ourselves a little bit of indulgence and since we can use Singaporediscover voucher, we wanted to experience how it’s like to feel like a VIP. Well, just for an hour.

Top 5 reasons to ride Singapore Flyer with VIP premium package

1. You can enjoy the drinks and snacks

The premium package would cost more, about SGD60 per ticket which includes a drink and some snacks. You can either choose champagne and chocolates or go for a glass of the Singapore Sling with an assortment of nuts. If you are underage or don’t drink alcohol, you can ask for a mocktail instead. The premium package also allows you to stand ahead of the line. You are entitled to have priority boarding.

2.  Flyer lounge to chill

Once you reached the Singapore flyer, go up to level 3 where the Flyer Lounge is. You can sit and chill in the lounge and wait for your exclusive check-in. The benefit of the premium package is you can use the Flyer lounge and wait for your flight.  There are magazines, computers and comfortable sofa with cool air-cond for you to relax.

3. Do not need to queue with the big crowds

You don’t have to queue in the long line. When it is about our timing for departure, the staff will come to escort you. A private lift inside the Flyer lounge will bring you to the capsule. So this VIP package is highly recommended for elderly people who are less mobile or someone who is in a wheelchair because there is special access directly to the capsule. You don’t have to stand and wait for the long line for the capsule, you have the privilege to race in front of the large crowds.

4. Privacy

It is fuss-free, no line no queue, just use the private lift inside the Flyer lounge and came to the capsule.  As we entered we were handed Singapore Slings cocktails and a mocktail for underage.  A basket full of nuts packed individually was placed nicely in a basket on a high table.

Amazingly, the capsule is only for us. There are no other passengers joining this premium capsule during that timing.

Since we have the whole capsule for 30 mins, without any other people, we just dance, sing, and take pictures freely.  I even did a little “shuffle dance” inside the capsule.

When the capsule started to move, you will see Singapore’s iconic skyline. The iconic MBS buildings, the Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay, from the top, it really looks like durian shells and yes, it is beautiful.

Celavi restaurant in MBS also can be seen from here.  The prominent red patio umbrella is outstanding.

Singapore Flyer was built in April 2008 with a height of about 165m. I went once before with my company and we had booked the whole capsule that time and it can sit up to 28 pax. But due to the pandemic timing, there is a capacity limit for each capsule now.

If you wonder there are how many capsules altogether, it has 28 in total and all are air-conditioned.

I also notice the World Dream cruise is parking at the terminal, usually the ship only departs at 9 pm.

5. Time to bring our elderly at home out

So if you are thinking of bringing your aged parents or grandparents who are less mobile, VIP premium package is really ideal for them.

After the ride, your ticket will entitle you to visit the little museum called Time Capsule. You will discover fascinating facets of Singapore’s history on a fun-packed journey. The museum is very interactive and you will be experiencing Singapore’s past, present and future.

Final thoughts:

This giant observation wheel that stands amidst the skyscrapers in the Singapore skyline is really the go-to during this pandemic timing. If you have not visited the Singapore Flyer, perhaps it is time to go visit. And yes, please also invite your parents or grandparents and do the booking with the premium package that includes the Singapore iconic drinks and private access without queue. It is about time to have another great bonding with our elderly. Stay inside the private capsule for 30 mins and enjoy the views, drinks, snacks in this cozy environment. It is a unique way to see Singapore and would be a great memory for the family.
