I always wanted to find out how does Newcastle in England look like? Is it similar with Newcastle in Australia? I did my undergraduate at University of Newcastle in Australia and during my student exchange program to Japan, students from other part of the world would ask which University I came from. The minute I told them I am from “Newcastle University”, they would think I am from England. Pretty funny. Probably Australia Newcastle University is less famous as compared to England Newcastle University.
However, Ali Baba – Jack Ma recently set up a USD $20 millions “Morley and Ma scholarship” for Newcastle University in Australia for memory of his good friendship with Morley family. With that, may be more people would know about the Newcastle University in Australia. It is very interesting to learn about Morley and Jack Ma’s story and their remarkable friendship!
Newcastle is about 103 miles south of Edinburgh but 277 miles north of London. The thing I most wanted to see is Newcastle University in England. The different between Newcastle in England and Newcastle in Australia is there is a castle in Newcastle in England but there is no castle in Newcastle in Australia 🙂
