4 day Itinerary Kuala Selangor and Shah Alam – departing from Singapore

4D3N Road Trip Itinerary: Kuala Selangor + Shah Alam (from SG)

Day 1: SG → Kuala Selangor

Departed Singapore at 5:30 AM, stuck at customs for 2 hours.

Arrived in Kuala Selangor and checked into De Palma Hotel for a night.

Went for an early seafood dinner near the jetty.

Joined the evening boat tour at 6 PM — includes:
Eagle feeding
Firefly watching
Blue Tears experience

Travel tip: Book your Sky Mirror + Night Activities package on Klook for just SGD32 — includes Sky Mirror (morning trip) and all 3 night activities. Super worth it compared to walk-in prices!
At the jetty, non-Malaysians pay more — there are two different price tiers.

Sky Mirror World & Boat Cafe
10, Jalan Feri Lama, Pasir Penambang,
45000 Kuala Selangor,
Selangor, Malaysia

Where to stay in Kuala Selangor : De Palma Resort Kuala Selangor

Only a 10-minute drive to the Sky Mirror jetty, super convenient if you’re planning the morning tour.

The hotel has a chalet-style setup, and my room came with 3 beds, 2 singles and 1 double bed, a swimming pool, and a local Malaysian-style breakfast included. Perfect for a short and relaxing stay with family or friends!

Day 2: Sky Mirror → Explore Kuala Selangor → Shah Alam

Early morning Sky Mirror trip (stunning reflection photos!)

Back to hotel by 11 AM, checked out at 12 PM.

Had lunch at Traffic Light Seafood Restaurant — fresh seafood feast!

Explored Kuala Selangor old town:

Nostalgic streets with charming murals and street art

Climbed Bukit Melawati — home to cheeky monkeys

(Weekends: no cars allowed, take the tram up — tickets sold on-site)

Drove to Shah Alam, checked into DoubleTree by Hilton i-City (2 nights stay)

Dinner at Central i-City Mall — just 2 mins walk, lots of eateries to choose from.

Where to stay in Shah Alam I city : Doubletree by Hilton I city Shah Alam

DoubleTree by Hilton i-City Shah Alam is conveniently located right next to Central i-City Mall — just a 2-minute walk! Super easy access to plenty of eateries, from casual restaurants to dessert spots and cafes. Perfect if you don’t feel like driving out for food.

Doubletree by Hilton breakfast was super awesome, lots of variety to choose from.

Day 3: Batu Caves + Klang Highlights

Early morning visit to Batu Caves — beautiful and iconic

Please try the muruku at the Batu Caves, freshly made and super crunchy, Rm 6 for a packet.

Had lunch at a local Klang Bak Kut Teh spot

Teluk Pulai ClaypotBak Kut Teh
32, Jalan Batai Laut 5,
Taman Intan, 41300 Klang,
Selangor, Malaysia

“Not the best Bak Kut Teh I’ve had, but it’s definitely affordable. The herbal soup was a bit too mild for my taste. Tried the dry version for the first time though — that was interesting!”

Walk a little further down and you’ll spot a queue for the famous pau — there’s always a line! I got the vegetable pau and it was super delicious. Kinda regretted not trying the char siew, mui choy, chicken, or red bean ones too. They also sell dumplings (bak chang) and a wide variety of Nyonya kuih!  They have frozen pao if you want to take away home.

Klang Food Centre (Handmade Pau)
吧生小食馆
10, Jalan Batai Laut 5,
Taman Intan, 41300 Klang,
Selangor Malaysia

Then you can chill in a aircon restaurant for Cendol RM5.90 , just a few shop next to the Pao shop.

Super Kitchen Chilli Pan Mee
18, Jalan Batai Laut 5, Taman Intan,
41300 Klang, Selangor, Malaysia

Visited the elegant Chinese Muslim Mosque nearby

Klang Chinese Muslim Jamek Mosque

Lot 157828, Jalan Langat, Taman Desawan Dua,

41200 Klang, Selangor, Malaysia

Passed the Klang River, spotted the classic 2-storey old bridge, and popped by a nearby mosque for a quiet visit

Dinner at Central I city mall

Day 4: Shah Alam → SG via Yong Peng

Checked out at 9 AM

Stopped at Yong Peng for famous fishball noodles

Yuan Yean Fishball Eating House
(元延,原创永平正宗西刀鱼圓)
122A, 123, Jln Besar, Taman Selatan,
83700 Yong Peng, Johor, Malaysia

Arrived back in Singapore around 3 PM
