Nine creeks in misty forest 九溪烟树 in West Lake Hangzhou

Nine creeks in misty forest (Jiuxi Yanshu) are one of the top ten scenery of the West Lake. You can see the misty dreamlike forest here, very beautiful all year round. In the autumn, you can check out the most beautiful autumn color, red and yellow maple leaves are found at the backdrop.

The good thing is Jiuxi Yanshu is a free scenic spot, you will see winding steams and lots of shady trees. The water in the Jiuxi Yanshu is very clear and you can even see fish swimming.

Once you park your car in the parking lot, there is a pond and a small waterfall and if you keep walking for few minutes, you will reach a pavilion. The view here the water stream and misty forest.

Some people prefer to hike up Jiuxi Yanshu and along the way, you will enjoy beautiful tea plantation, tall trees, and clear streams. Alternatively, you can also rent a bike to cycle the whole stretch up. This place is well-known for local tourists, full of natural elements. You can hear birds singing and flowing of the stream.

Jiuxi Yanshu is about 5.5 km long, a great place to get away for heat and hustle-bustle of the city.

After the rain, the forest on the nearby Bajue Mountain 八觉山 rises in smoke, and the valley is misty, forming a beautiful misty forest landscape.

Final thoughts:

Hike up or rent a bicycle up to Jiuxi Yanshu would be a lovely experience.  You should also stop at the long jing tea plantation and have a sip of tea.
