Abades Nevada Palace, Granada Hotel Review – Spain

Where to stay in Granada? Abades Nevada Palace is an ideal location, just 10 minutes drive from Granada top attraction such as Alhambra. From the outside, the shape of the hotel is elliptical which has 258 rooms which include 23 apartments.

The hotel is modern which adopted the black color theme, you can see it at the front desk upon entering the grand hall.

Grand Lobby with Glass Elevator

There is a grand piano sit in the front lobby and a huge wood plank, not sure what it that, could be some artwork. The elevator to go up the room is made with glass so you get to see the grand lobby from the top when the elevator moves up.

Room Review

The lighting is the room is not very bright but cozy.  It feels comfortable when you step into the room as it is neat and clean.

Wooden Flooring

The flooring is made of wood and I prefer it more than carpet as it looks cleaner.  There is flat screen tv hanging on the wall in front of the beds. A small table with a table lamp at one side of the corner near the window.

The view from the hotel

Do remember to open up the curtain when you wake up to see the mountain view, very pretty and it a bonus!

Bathroom Review

The bathroom has all the basic things guests need so I have no complaint at all. It also looks neat and I love there is an additional makeup mirror which can be very useful for ladies.

Smart Toilet with Bidet Wash – hurray!

Super glad to find out the smart toilet which has bidet wash! I have seen a few traditional bidet washes sit next to the toilet bowl during my stay in the hotel of Spain and Portugal and that is so troublesome!

This one here in Abades Nevada Palace Hotel is modern and controlled by an electric panel with only a few buttons.  These buttons are only very limited (meaning it has less functions) as compared to the one in Japan.  Japanese electric toilet or smart toilet has more functions. It even has the “Otohime” or they called it “sound princess” meaning a noise generator that creates a camouflaging noise play without an actual water flush to disguise the real sound that you created during your pee or poo. This is to let you pee and poo in peace and without worrying the next door hearing you. (Japanese are always thinking of others so they invented this feature).

Convenient Store LiDL is Nearby

Outside the hotel within 1 min walking distance, there is a groceries store LiDL.  You can get drinks and snacks there or check out what are the local groceries to get back home.

Nevada Shopping

If you want to do some serious shopping, the Nevada Shopping Center is located 5 mins drive from the hotel, only 3-4km away.  We passed by the Nevada Shopping Center at night when we were going to see the flamenco show in a cave house in Albayzín neighbourhood. The shopping center looks big!

Hotel Breakfast Review

The restaurant has a very modern set up with stylist chairs with interesting print.  The chairs match so well with the square black tables.  The contrast is the round shape lightings at the ceiling.  The whole feeling is great the moment you step into the restaurant.  Brilliant interior design.

The breakfast choices aren’t as many compared to the one in Seville – Silken Al-Andalus Palace which we stayed earlier before we reached Granada.  Overall, still good and the food are made fresh and hot.

Salmorejo

Salmorejo is the tomato soup with originated in Andalucian region, seen it several times in southern Spain. It is served cold and as a starter and best eat during the hot summer, similar to Gazpacho.  But Gazpacho blends with more vegetables and often drunk from a glass, while salmorejo is served in a bowl.  I have seen people eating it with dipping with fresh veggies and bread & olive oil.

All freshly made and still feel warm when we had them.
